Developmental Disability (DD) Pilot Project
February 5, 2013
Invitation for Participate
As you know, KanCare was implemented on January 1, 2013. The 2012 Kansas Legislature passed a proviso that delayed the implementation of KanCare for HCBS-I/DD waiver services and Targeted Case Management services until January of 2014. The proviso also directed the I/DD system to design and implement a pilot project during 2013 to assist the system with coordinating a smooth transition to KanCare. A group of I/DD system stakeholders has been working on the design of the pilot project for several months.
I\DD Pilot Advisory Committee Report
It contains the proviso language, gives an overview of the project and identifies several goals of the pilot. The group recognizes that their work is on-going and will continue throughout the project, but they do feel we are ready to begin implementation on March 1, 2013. Please consider this an invitation to both persons receiving services and providers of those services to participate in the pilot project. Click here for the report.
Electing to participate in the pilot is VOLUNTARY for both the HCBS service provider and the person receiving services.
