Prevention of Elder Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation (PEANE) Grants
PEANE funds are made available to selected grantees for projects that provide either education, training or research for the prevention or awareness of elder abuse, neglect, exploitation or fiduciary abuse of the elderly. The grants may also be used to provide public education and outreach to promote financial literacy and prevent identity theft and financial exploitation of older individuals. Through an annual request-for-proposal process, KDADS grants the funds to a variety of agencies and organizations.
Special Project Grant Opportunity
The Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services (KDADS) is accepting Special Project Grant Applications for project proposals for the Prevention of Elder Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation (PEANE) of older individuals.

- to promote financial literacy and prevent identity theft and financial exploitation of older individuals.
Applicants must also propose to collaborate with local organizations responsible for programs and services for seniors and their caregivers in communities, including senior centers, hi-rise apartments, congregate meal sites and other places where seniors and their caregivers gather.
This is a one year grant. The grant period is September 1, 2013 through August 31, 2014. The award for any project will not exceed $5,000.
