Pilar started with KDADS in July 2021 as the Northeast Kansas Program Integrity and Compliance Specialist. She has been instrumental in implementing the HCBS Settings Final Rule. She is responsible for providing support to KDADS’ HCBS programs initiatives. Pilar attended Wichita State University, where she received a Bachelor of Sociology, and Wichita State University, in conjunction with the University of Kansas, with a Master of Public Health. Before coming to KDADS, she worked as a Veterans Service Officer with the Kansas Commission of Veterans Affairs for two years. She has worked for the County of Sedgwick and the City of Wichita. She served in the Army Reserve for 11 years and was deployed twice: Desert Storm/ Desert Shield and Operation Joint Endeavor.
