Kansas Caregivers LogoCaregivers provide regular care or assistance to a friend or family member with a health problem or disability. Nearly 1 in 5 adults in Kansas is a caregiver. Family caregivers are a critical component in providing the long-term care needs of older adults. Unpaid caregivers provide eighty-five percent (85%) of all long-term care services. Help is available. This section provides information on available programs, supports, and other resources.

Area Agency on Aging 1-866-457-2364: a trusted source of information that deliver a core set of services: funding for nutrition programs, in-home and other community series, including programs to support physical health and fitness , and to assist caregiver for older adults. 

Kansas Aging and Disability Resource Center 1-855-200-2372 (ADRC): connects older adults and people with disabilities to information, referrals, and options counseling.

National Family Caregiver Support Program 1-866-457-2364: offers federally funding to help family caregivers access services like counseling, respite care and supplemental resources through local agencies.This program is administered through local Area Agency on Aging offices.

VA Caregiver Support Program 1-855-260-3274: promotes the health and well-being of family caregivers who care for our Nation’s Veterans, through education, resources, support, and services.
