Kansas Senior Nutrition Program


The purpose of the program is to promote the general health and well-being of older Kansans and:

  • Reduce hunger, food insecurity and malnutrition of older adults
  • Promote socialization of older individuals
  • Promote health and well-being of older Kansans:
    • by assisting them in gaining access to nutrition and other disease prevention and health promotion services
    • to delay the onset of adverse health conditions resulting from poor nutritional health or sedentary behavior

Services

Congregate Nutrition Services. Nutritious meals consumed by qualified individuals in a congregate or group setting.

Home-Delivered Nutrition Services. Nutritious meals consumed in qualified individuals' place of residence.

Nutrition Education. Accurate information to support food, nutrition and physical activity choice and behaviors in order to maintain or improve health and address nutrition-related conditions.

Nutrition Counseling. For a limited time, Hy-Vee is providing free virtual nutrition counseling sessions to older Kansans. See the flyers below for more information!
