In accordance with the Older Americans Act of 1965, as amended, the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services (KDADS), as the designated State Unit on Aging, is mandated to submit a “State Plan on Aging” to the U.S. Administration on Aging. This plan describes the agency’s vision and purpose, including the goals and strategies to achieve this vision. Development of the plan was accomplished through interaction with the Kansas Aging Network.
The current four-year plan approved by the Administration for Community Living (ACL), Administration on Aging (AoA) begins October 1, 2021 and ends September 30, 2025. Download it, including the approval letter, below.
Kansas State Plan on Aging 2022-2025
KDADS is hosting FOUR in-person listening sessions to allow older Kansans the opportunity to share their suggestions, needs, comments, and feedback regarding Older Americans Act services. Participation is invaluable and will be used to develop the upcoming State Plan on Aging.
KDADS collaborates with the 11 Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs) to support the independence of older adults and help them remain in their homes for as long as possible.
