About
The CSW is a new Medicaid waiver program that will help Kansans with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) who do not need 24-hour, paid support. The CSW will expand community care choices and supplement natural supports to make it easier for anyone to live independently at home.

Provider Qualifications
Most—but not all—provider types must do the following to provide services under the CSW:
- Contract with an MCO or get approval as an out-of-network provider
- Affiliate with the local CDDO
- Complete required trainings on Abuse, Neglect, and Exploitation (ANE); CPR and basic first aid; crisis prevention and intervention; and the use of restraints and restrictive interventions
Kansas maintains open enrollment for any willing and qualified provider. In other words, individuals and/or agencies that meet the requirements can enroll as a provider at any time using the online portal.
MCOs review potential providers to make sure they meet all requirements. If a participant hires a provider through self-direction, the FMS agency will review that provider to ensure they satisfy the requirements.
