Assessing Organization
Statewide HCBS Assessing Organization
Kansas offers seven HCBS waivers designed to support individuals with diverse needs. Of these, the Statewide HCBS Assessing Organization, operated by Maximus, is responsible for conducting level of care assessments for three specific waivers: Brain Injury (BI), Frail Elderly (FE), and Physical Disability (PD).

Below are details for upcoming virtual and in-person events planned across the state where Maximus will be available to share valuable information about HCBS waiver services. Representatives from the Assessing Organization plan to attend these events and connect with potential waiver participants, families/caregivers, and community partners to discuss more details on the three waivers it supports through its level of care assessments. These waivers include Brain Injury (BI), Frail Elderly (FE), Physical Disability (PD), as well as the Program for All Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE).

Maximus, the Statewide HCBS Assessing Organization partner with KDADS, is pleased to introduce Compass: Navigating Resources to Support Healthy Living, an ongoing series of features that focus on topics that matter to HCBS waiver participants, families, caregivers, and community partners. These will include awareness of monthly health observances, community resources to explore, and insights from subject matter experts on HCBS-related topics.
