Intellectual / Developmentally Disabled (I/DD)

The Intellectual / Developmental Disability (I/DD) waiver serves individuals age five and older who meet the definition of intellectual disability, have a developmental disability, or are eligible for care in an Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF-IID). Those with a developmental disability may be eligible if their disability was present before age 22 and they have a substantial limitation in three or more areas of life functioning.

Eligibility

  1. Must be five years of age or older;
  2. Have Intellectual Disability that began before the age of 18;
  3. Have a diagnosis of a Developmental Disability that began before the age of 22;
  4. Must be determined program eligible by the Community Developmental Disability Organization;
  5. Meet the Medicaid long-term care institutional threshold score;
  6. Be financially eligible for Medicaid.


Enrollment

To apply for the I / DD waiver, contact your local CDDO. The CDDO will determine program eligibility and work with you and/or your family to access services from various community service providers in your local area.
