State Advisory Council on Aging

The Advisory Council on Aging is a statutorily created body, representing different geographical, social and ethnic groups, with at least half of membership being 60 years of age or older. The Council meets at least twice a year to provide advocacy for the aging in the affairs of the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services (KDADS), the Governor's office, and other public and private, state and local agencies affecting aging issues. They also serve as the advisory committee as required by the federal Older Americans Act, and have the duty to review and comment upon various activities of KDADS.
